Music in the Meadow

Music in the Meadow

It is my pleasure to introduce you to Music in the Meadow, a day to celebrate with LIVE music, fine art, informative ecological displays, unique cuisine, summer-time refreshments and an earth-sharing spirit! A quote by Robert Redford describes it well, “At a time when society is moving us further and further away from the basic rhythms of our heritage and environment, we need to work to recapture both.” The ‘invitation only’ gathering will be held within our 30-acre private nature sanctuary, bordering the Looking Glass River, in the southwest corner of Shiawassee County, Michigan. Our 3-acre short grass meadow amphitheater, where the music venue will be held, is actually the center point of an ancient native mound system created 1 to 2 thousand years ago by, who is believed to be, the Hopewell People. Vendors, along with a spacious picnic tent, will be set-up atop the large ‘Ceremonial’ Mound while musical performances will be conducted from the prominate ‘Shaman’ Mound stage below. Another ‘Sentinel’ mound, hidden in the woods, completes the historic landscape. Local Historians have speculated these earthen features hosted special gatherings and celebrations millenniums ago. It is our pleasure to recreate and share such energy again with you during this special, one-day only, festival.
